I hit the waters early today. I had a couple of things that I wanted to try. First, I wanted to see if my boilie soak made a difference. Not a lick. Second, I ordered some commercial boilies, I didn’t pre-bait with them so I didn’t think it would really work but there is always a shot. These didn’t work either, except that I did catch a crayfish, or rather he was so greedy that he didn’t even let the boilie go as I pulled him up from the water. Third, I also ordered Carp pellets; they are actually much cheaper than chumming with corn and this did work. Within five minutes the spot that I had chummed was swarming with large bubbles and tail swirls. I think if I would have had corn on my hair rig I would have hooked a few but I didn’t have any left as this was the end of my session.

What kind of corn are you using? It makes a huge difference. We tested 6 brands of canned corn several years ago, and Niblets outdid the rest more than 2 to 1.

Can you share where you are ordering carp pellets and baits from? All of the ones I've seen are in UK

fishinChristian I really didn’t put much thought into what kind of corn, outside of sweet corn, I was just using Fred Meyer brand sweet corn, thanks for the tip on niblets.
Wlai, I can and will share these sites, they are both U.S. located one in CA and the other in GA. You can get a lot of the stuff the U.K. boards are talking about.

What in the world do you do with those things (kill them, hopefully, given their nature as a nasty invasive species)? I've caught a few on rod and reel, and it is amusing, but they are inedible. Bowfishing I've had several trips where I shoot a dozen or more. Tried eating them a multitude of different ways, but they are really truly disgusting.
