This was my first Lake Ballinger experience and fished from about 5pm to 6pm on this very windy evening. There was quite a bit of chop on the water with partly sunny skies and the temp around 45F. I took the little skiff out to the north end of the island where there was some protection from the gusting wind. On my first pass across the north point of the island I caught and released an 8" trout on a size #10 Carey Bugger. With its bright coloring it looked to be one of the recently planted fish.
