I put in the water at my local kokanee lake at 6am with PinkPole who met me at the launch today. It was getting foggy and when I left home it was 56 outside. It is suppose to get to 80 today. The lake was very still and there were only a few people out fishing.
Slammin8er got there just as we were leaving the launch.
I got 4 on the Pink Splatter dodger from Dick Nite combined with Wannafish A Lure’s Pink Splatter Squiddy Thing. 1 on a Dick Nite Chrome Clown Dodger with a Wannafish A Lure. They still like the anise scent more than others. PinkPole got a few bites. She had to be off the water by 8am and as we brought up our lures I got my fourth. We got the most action in about 65 feet of water from surface to 37 feet.
I thought that I had caught my biggest kokanee from this lake today but it wasn’t in length. I believe it was by weight though.
Just before 8 it was so foggy that I was having trouble seeing where the launch was. But it cleared just enough to see it when we were close. I dropped her off and debated rather I should go out again in the fog because I could get 1 more fish. Well, getting that fish won out and my plan was to turn left out of the launch and keep shore in view. I started getting my gear out right away got it down to 8 foot to start with. Then adjust the motor so I could go straight. Before I even got to the first buoy I got a fish. I thought it was a trout. It fooled me. It was my last koke. I was done by 8:15am without getting lost in the fog.
