This report gets one star for each fish + 1 for wildlife viewed. Started out around 8:00am. 5 or 6 truck trailer rigs parked in the lot. With 3 or 4 fishing the City park dock. No fish caught by them. One boater with two on board indicated one fish off the bat, none after that. Tried a variety of gear, either tipped with worm or El-natural. One hit it first hour. Played with depth and more gear changes during the second hour. During that time, one more never ending hit. Where the fish struck, stopped and came back for seconds, stopped and returned a third time to attempt peeling the remaining strand of worm from the hook.
Caught one 9" while still fishing power bait. That fish had some larger than normal lumps on the outside skin. Tried to release it, and during that revival session. A Bald Eagle decided to swoop down, collect the trout from the water. Return to a nest squawking adolescence, and feed the family.
I had an idea this may occur, after watching the same Eagle. Circle over another boat that was trolling. There must have been a stringer of fish being towed behind the boat. The Eagle made a focused dive for an area just behind the boat and veered off, 10ft above the fishermen. Both were in heavy conversation and were totally oblivious, as to what had occurred above there targeted heads.
Changed up gear yet again, and started trolling. With the plan of heading back to the ramp. With 10 or 12 boat, canoe combo's on the water. The ramp took some time to clear of car toppers. Kept trolling the area until the ramp cleared up. Caught one more trout. This was clean of the lumpy bumpy parasite. Thought it might be good timing for a pre-lunch snack for the Eagle family. It was just that. Since water dunking two cell phones to date. I am restricted from having a phone on the dingy. Was a fine time for a photo tho! No pictures taking. Off the water @11:30. While loading my gear, boat....ect. Two dudes were walking onto the dock. Carrying a one man kayak and oddly enough, a 4 foot step ladder, no fishing gear! I hear the single fishermen at the end of the dock say "What is the Ladder for?". I did not hear the response, but looked up to see one dude standing on the top step of the ladder, the other dude is leaning against the railing. Dude on the ladder has a super nice camera, pointed at the gentlemen, leaning against the dock railing. The lone fishermen is standing there staring at the other two, kinda shell shocked. Continuing with my loading, I look back at the dock just before loading myself into the cab. The fishermen is still a deer in headlights, and the blond haired gentlemen leaning against the railing now has his shirt off! Camera man still perched on the top step of the ladder. I didn't stick around to see how the single person Kayak entered into the two dudes, camera and ladder equation. Maybe the fishermen, eye witnessing the occurrence will add a report. That is if he ever snapped out of his trans!! I could take one star away for this part of the outing. But the Eagle rocked!!
Arron, Mike. When typing the last paragraph. Each letter was hidden from view, except for the very top of the font. Once a new line began, the previously typed line was completely in view. To see a non completed line, pressing the "enter key" created space at bottom of page. So, that typing became visible.
