Caught one two pound/20" mack at 115' by 8 mile island. My fishing trip was cut short due to a inferior wal-mart deep cycle battery. Anyways, this post is more about the thorofare. My girlfriend and I boated up to the upper lake and while traveling through the thorofare I noticed on the sand banks hundreds of 18" or so fish with one black horizontal stripe on their sides. At first I was in disbelif as I'd never seen or heard of a fish with those particular markings, so on our way back to the lower lake, we took a closer look and unless we were both mistaken, they did indeed have the stripe. The fish were everywhere! Does anyone have any info they might share?

They didnt have the downward pointing mouth like suckers do, and I don't remember seeing a black stripe like that on squaw.

No they definitely weren't bass. They were shaped like your standard trout.

I've seen those fish there alot too, and I was informed whitefish, but i don't know. There are tons of squaw in the thoroughfare though. Maybe chub? I don't know.
