Got out on Stevens with a friend, trolling our typical bead spinner setup behind a dodger.

The fog was heavy on the lake at first, but burned off leaving us with a sunny day.

The law of averages caught up with us for last time, causing us to land 2 out of 7, in about 2.5 hours of fishing.

Part of the landing problem was poor hooksets, caused by the fish hitting the inside rod during a turn. After I finally noticed this, I kept an eye on the inside rod & would goose the motor when the fish hit. Then we started landing them.

We were getting fish in the 50-70' range.

Tight lines all.

If you only get hit on turns and it is always the inside rod, then you are trolling to fast. If you are already going as slow as motor will allow then drag a 5 gallon bucket (it will slow you down a bit more). What speed have you been trolling? I have been having to drag bucket as my kicker motor has been acting up, so having to use main motor. Which reminds me I need to get off this computer and go take the carb off and clean it.
