First time fishing Lk. Washington. I had studied Google Earth for spots to target and programed them into the GPS. Launched from Coulon at about 9:00am and headed north along the east channel. Checked out the entrance of May Creek but no bites. Next stop was in front of the Seahawks training facility. First fish was along a piling wall and caught on a Yamamoto grub, orange color and was 13". Second fish was 16 to 17" range and somewhere between 1.5 and 2lbs (didn't weigh her) She was sitting under a log right up near shore and was caught on a green Yamamoto Hula Grub. At first I though I had a snag as she didn't pound it, she was probably trying to just move it off her nest. Had a few misses and headed up to Newport shores and worked some lily pad areas with no luck, explored the Mercer slew a bit and coming back out into the lake caught two small (7") perch in quick succession, moved over to the south side of the marina and caught two more smallies one on the orange grub and the other on a curly tail minnow. Missed a few more before the rain started to get serious so we called it a day and headed back. Overall I'm happy with my first trip out to Lk Washington.
