Having read reports and watched the video on American Lake . I made the trek to the lake to give it a try I came prepared dodgers, hoochies, wedding rings, spoons, various baits , down riggers the works. Maybe I was too prepared. skunked is the word. Not a touch. 10 other boats in the lake never seen a fish caught. So much for the 1200 trout planted last week. Locals say there are no Kokannee this year. Fact I do not know but I know I could not find them in 5 hours of fishing.

The kokanee are in there, just hard to catch this year. When you do get one they are big. Last year was pretty easy catching. This year you have to work for them.

When I go again I will dedicate 8 hours to tryng to get them. Our video on the day I went,. was for 8 hours, 4 people, 2 boats, and 8 rods. 4 fish to boat, 3 in the boats. When you get one it will be BIG!

Thanks guys. when it takes that long it is frustrating to the mind. Part may have been the clear weather keeping the fish scattered and hiding too. Most lakes you see jumpers and I saw only one or two on Monday.

Frustrating and mind-numbing. But still better than work!
