My girlfriend and I had to come back to the harder fighting fish in this lake after fishing Spring Lake yesterday. We hit the lake at around 9:00 and whithin 5 minutes she already had a nice fish in the boat. I was using my favorite flatfish and after 3 hours she had me beat on fish 4 to 2. I was just getting ready to switch to her set-up when she hooked in to the biggest trout she's ever caught. It ended up weighing 2.4lbs. and was a little over 17". Sure made her day. She was perfectly content on sitting back and enjoying the day while I fished. I caught one more then the wind kicked up and it started raining so we left. We were surprised to find these 4 things inside her big fish. They are plastic and all of them were melted on one end. The tips of fireworks? Whatever they are this fish really liked them.

Those are awful weird looking! Thanks for the report Steve, I think i've run into you at Lake Walker and Wilderness (you kinda have a Ted Nugent thing going on right?)

Yeah, that would be me and the woman you see with this big fish would be with me. I have fished Wilderness often but just went to Walker once to check it out and I don't remember seeing the same guy at both lakes. Please feel free to introduce yourself if you see Linda and I around. I've read your reports for the last year and would like to put a face to yooper_fisher. We should be at Lake Morton the next nice day, Thursday or Friday.

I don't know what they are. Read the last line on my report. They are plastic, pointed on one end, melted on the other. I was hoping someone would know what they are but Linda's fish had eaten all 4 of them. I'm going to take them with me tomorrow and see if any of my fishing buddies know what they are.

The plastic things are fireworks from either a Saturn missile, or whistling bottle rockets.

Sure seems weird to me that a fish would eat them.
