Spent Monday afternoon at Clear Lake. Squeezed our boat through the narrow channel into the concealed bay near Mallard Bay Resort. No other boats were silly enough to go back there. Fished for 3 hours and only caught 3. Giving it 4 stars though because two of the fish were over the slot. This 18 incher weighed 3.7lb on my scale. I figured it would weigh more, but there wasn't much girth to the fish. Perhaps thin coming out of the spawn? Tons of hatchlings swimming around looking like rivers of tiny fish. Beautiful. All fish caught on black or pumpkin Senkos on reed edges.

Thanks for the report, I'll be camping there at the Military Resort for 4 days beginning this Friday. Hopefully get in some good bassin!

We've also had good luck with browns and bows trolling up and down the side of the lake the Military Resort is on. Needlefish on pop gear is what we use in the fall. Copper has been a good color as well as rainbow. The bass do seem hungry. We didn't get numbers but the 3 were good size. We caught a 2.8 lber which I hooked up and he shook the hook. My son casted in right after me and hooked him within 2 seconds. Best of luck! Glad the Military has such a cool MWR facility (former USAF myself).
