My Dad and I decided to give Offut a try on Saturday. This was the first time to this lake, so we went there with only information from this website. Once we found the public launch, we next had the fun of getting the boat launched. There is not a lot of room to turn around at the bottom of the hill where the actual launch is located, so it really does take a few backups and pull ahead to get your boat trailer positioned correctly. We were out on the lake by about 9:00am and during the 5 1/2 hours we were there, we caught a total of 5 trout. The best fishing seemed to be on the South side of the lake, especially near the Resort. We caught our fish on Powerbait. We saw people trolling and we saw people fishing towards the surface with bobbers. This lake is not very deep, with the deepest part we saw on the fish finder being 21 feet. The temperature of water at the surface in some parts of the lake was 72.6 degrees.
