Hi there, I realize this report is a bit belated, but what the heck. I'm 17 now, and my dad and I went fishing over at Deception Pass for the Pink Salmon that were supposed to show. We didn't get any this particular day, but we each got one on a later date, both three pounders. (but that's a different story) This day, my dad, my brother, my sister and I all went fishing at Cranberry from the public access dock in the State Park. It was a sunny day, and there was an algae bloom going on, which made the water dark green colored. We were still fishing with power bait, and I hooked and landed about an 12", scrawny looking rainbow. Not too abnormal, except I didn't even hook him through the mouth. There was an old rusty snap-swivel sticking out its mouth, and a hook sticking out its backside. Apparently this fish had thwarted someone's previous attempt to catch it, and now had a line running through its intestinal tract with metal on both ends. As I said, I didn't hook it through the mouth, but instead, my hook got caught on the hook sticking out its backside, defiantly something you don't see every day. Despite being scrawny, it tasted alright.
Good luck folks,
Lukas
ps, my younger sister caught a nice fat rainbow of about 13" the next day, I guess there are fish after all.
