Well, went fishing solo on Friday as we wanted a particular campsite with privacy and shoreline to pull the canoe out of the water and Melanie had to work on Friday so she dropped me off Thursday evening to join me on friday evening. Woke up to a little wind on the water and cold temp., went fishless and had no bites 'till 3:15p.m., caught a cut down 30 ft. suspended in 180 ft(!). Caught another in 200 ft, but sudden mountain storm came up and made fishing immpossible, downright nasty getting back in. Went back out as it calmed down by 7:00p.m.caught another and lost a really nice cut while still a ways out.Melanie came but was too late to go back out.Started out a little later as moning bite seemed non-existant. Melanie caught one after an hour or so but that was the last fish, wind came up with 2 to 3 ft. waves while we were at upper end of lake. Ride back was truely a hairy ride, our dog was not happy.Went for a nice hike to do something else, weather was not in our favor so we beat it early. My take on poor fishing is that the rain event earlier in the week put over 2 inches into the like in 24 hous, previous week we had a little less rain, water temp. is low due to snowmelt, lake dropped 2 ft. on the shoreline within 24 hours. hopefully will have a drier week as next week is the derby!Photo is of everything I threw at them. I won't tell what works this close to the derby , though (lol)Tight lines to all, bob r
