It was a good day on Sprague this Saturday, but the fish were difficult. My Grandson got his first fish, and it was a 20" rainbow. My Son, his father, was pretty happy, even though he only caught a small bow. I boated one that was 20" also.
We hit the shore for Bass and gills for an hour but only saw three bass, no gills. I had only one bass hit and I just missed it. The trout were hitting pretty soft as well.
The water is still pretty clear, but it has green algaealge/plankton starting. The temperature at mid day was 64.5, but only 61 degrees at 8:00 PM.
There is going to be a big fish derby through Four Seasons Resort on the State's free fishing Saturday. I believe it is only $7.00 per day.
I am still of the belief that the cold fronts that are moving through are causing the Bass and Bluegills to hold off the banks, but it is possible that the Bass are deep into the reeds, brush, etc.
