Decided the other day that I was going to give fishing for Kokanee a try and went down to Auburn Sports & Marine, much thanks to Leroy who hooked me up with all the gear and information to get give it a go! Got on the water today aroudn 3:45 and trolled for about 1.5 hours. After figuring out the downrigger and whatnot, I had some success and got two little 8" Kokanee in the boat. I was fishing around 20'-25' below the surface. Had a great time and enjoyed seeing something other than Rainbows make there way to the net. What other lakes are good fishing for Kokanee around the area?? Any advice for a rookie??

I also went to lake meridian on saturday. What blast!we got a bunch of kokanee and a few fat trout. The bite is definetly on there. We have been fishing clear lake and american lake for kokanee. Most action came from lake meridian however they are small fish but very fun.

I've also just gotten into kok fishing. I'll be hitting up Meridian soon, but have focused on Wilderness since it's closer. The kok's there seem to be few, but I've seen some nice ones come out

there are litterally dozens of lakes with kokanee in them...below is a commom list of lakes in washington...
my personal favorites for continous action are Lake Kachees, (limit 16) smaller and deep (60 to 80 feet) but non stop fun...
Alder lake is new to me, but lots of action...
meridian for proximity, but smaller fish...angle lake for the same reason, but action can be very slow here at times
clear lake has great action when you get on the schools...
Of course american lake and lake stevens for size, although i am reading disappointing reports on stevens this year...
I am told lake Sawyer has them, but i have never boeated any there...but close enough to spend evening ofter work trying
