A friend and I decided to head up to bead this morning to try some Mack and kokaane fishing. Neither of us have ever been out on the lake. I knew the boat launch had a six car limit. The launch has a public rest room and is well kept. One thing I was not aware of however was that your vehicle access pass or discover pass is not valid for this launch. There is a five dollar fee to launch. No biggie just glad I had some ones. We started fishing around 830 and fished till about two. I started out with trolling a flatfish size 20 I believe. It was silver in color with some chartese color. I believe I was about 50 feet down or so and had no strikes. We were long lining with a bunch of weight. A firetiger, orange and black, and yellow and red was used with the same results. I tried a couple spoons of different colors with no luck and a couple jointed rapalas. Buddy used some flashers and a pink wedding ring for koks no luck. He also tried a Dick night silver in color and a couple rooster tails. He did catch a sucker on a black rooster tail only fish all day. Weather was awesome for fishing. Had 3 military fighter jets come roaring over out of one draw. They were extremely low less than a hundred yards high and flew directly over the boat very cool. Overall all can't complain about the fishing for the fact it was our first time at the lake. Does anybody have any pointers or something we should try next time? Any info would be great. Thanks much.
