The Schlecht family came out with us to try and catch a pile of small fish. Dad, Ryan had been having a difficult time getting the boys to catch fish. It just goes to show you, fishing is unpredictable. We decided to use little F-7 Flatfish to get these eating size lakers to bite. But, before we could attach the Flatfish to the downrigger a really nice fish exploded on it, cartwheeling into the air. Nine year old Gabriel got on the rod and held on for the ride. The fish jumped and made some powerful runs before coming to the net. It was an 8.5 pound chrome Chinook. Check out his smile! Gabriel, 7 year old Christian, and even 4 year old Josh got to catch fish after fish. What a glorious afternoon as the predicted high winds held off until dad Ryan said we had accomplished the mission with a really nice pile of Chelan Lakers in addition to the beautiful Chinook.
