I got a chance invite from my bro Jason Sappenfield of Zillah to fish some I-82 ponds that I wanted to explore for panfish. So I jumped in the truck and met up with him and his son and hiked into some small ponds he had told me about. His son Tanner had caught nice 1 1/2 pound largemouth bass just as I arrived on a Zoom trick worm. I was pretty stoked about our chances of picking up some decent panfish! The evening was perfect as high clouds and a pleasant breeze cooled things down and the panfish were really cooperative. Fishing with Tanner214 known as Jason to Walakers was a blast! We caught somewhere around 40 panfish, a mixed bag of Blugill, bass, perch and crappie. I was testing out my new Nebula panfish micro jigs and the bluegill were all over it. as I was picking up a fish with them on nearly every cast for a bit. Jason was kind enough to put some jumbo perch he had caught in my bag and we even caught a few decent crappie to boot. The bigger bluegill ran around 7 to 9" as did the perch and crappie. Though they may not of been the 10"+ bull gills I prefer to go after, thier willingness to bite made it a fun evening spent with a couple of awesome friends. Jason stopped by my house this morning in Sunnyside to pick up some 3" Stone Dragun Jigs from me to field test on big smallmouth while camping down in the Plymouth, Columbia River area. I'm really looking forward to his report! Tight lines brothers. Jiggy
