Second post, same day, same lake, but for a purpose. After the day went poorly for Spinny Rays, we could not help but join in with some boats trolling for trout.

WOW

From about 4:30 until about 6:30 PM, we lost one fish about 7 or 8 pounds when it broke my buddy's line. He had another about 20" that broke him off as well. I caught one bow 21.75", one Cutt at 20.25 inches, and a third nice bow in the picture. Having the legal two fish over 20", I did not measure the other fish I caught and released. My friend also caught and lost a few other fish.

I do not know how long it will last, but it is clear that the trout fishing on Sprague is hot right now, and hot for large fish.

I have been told how good the old days were when Sprague was re-habed before. I suggest that the good old days are back. Enjoy them while you can.

PS, without carp in the lake, I could see a white tube jib at 9 to 10' depth. The water has some green started, but I have not seen the water this clear at this time of year since I moved to Washington in 1999.

Nice way to turn the day around AA. I read a similar report in Friday's S-R regarding the large trout there. Would be interested in your assessment of "table fare" quality. That cutt has nice color too.

I will be eating the smaller one on Monday. Table fare will be checked.

The cut was very firm but almost white fleshed. The bows are very red fleshed and almost as firm as the cut.

I ate the smaller bow, and it was excellent. I used a little flour, salt, pepper, and a touch of dry salad dressing powder. My wife loved it even more then I did, and she is hard to please.
