HIt Forbes lake over in Kirkland near Costco this morning. I was in my float tube. The lilly pads are already quite heavy on this lake, kind of strange. Lake has LOTS of cover. At least one beaver pond, and a lot of down wood.
Started off with drop shotting. Not much action there... Then went to the 4-5" dark Senkos. Picked up my first lmb. A dink, under 1lb. Back to drop shotting, and got 3 more dinks.
This is such a great little urban lake from at least a visual/fishy looking perspective. In the 3x I've fished it I have never caught anything of any size, but I have hope. There are some real shallow swampy areas that I can't help but want to spend more time on with coming spawn. There is an incoming creek on the N. side of the lake, and a small outflow creek on the S. side. Last year I pulled the largest lmb out of the mouth of the outgoing creek.

QF: I fished that lake with my son about 10 years ago. Try topwater, perch, frog or pale yellow color. Not necessarily weedless. It worked then.

Just looked it up. Trip was May 22, 2003. 14 bass, one close to 6 lbs (5lb 13oz). Also caught some decent bluegill (tiny jigs with worm), not big, but decent. Only fished it once. Only note I made on where was "Cast to pocket in pads, drag past point." Skunked my son, sadly....
That's all I've got on it.
Good luck.

Fishin'Christian, Thanks for your info. I just love to find and fish these urban ponds. Mostly they get NO pressure. If you have a tube and are stealth you can find a way to worm your way in. This one has a totaly legal access behind the apartments. You info. on the larger bass is encouraging! I saw one jump last year that was of good size. This one has all bonuses, newly made wetlands/shallow areas for spawning, incoming and outgoing streams. Wood, pads, etc.
I hope you can be motivated to go out and fish it again this summer, and let me know how you do.
Do you have any experience on Totem lake, about 15 blocks N. of there? I have seen very large carp in the shallows. Lots of bullfrogs. I fished it at lunch from work a couple times, but no luck. The only access presently is a small dock on the N. end. If you are limber you could get a float tube over the side, but it's a challenge. If you have any other "Urban pond" experience, send me a PM. I'll swap a couple lakes with you.

5lb 13oz! I have fished this lake heavily for the past two years (Catch and release) and at best caught a largy half that size. You have given me new hope for my favorite local lake! Also, not sure if he was put in by a mischievous fisherman but I have pulled a Blue Cat out of there as well. They are rare but I have also pulled some decent crappie out of there too.
