Went out twice this week for an hour each time on the kayak - 5/7 (Monday) and 5/11 (Thursday). Caught 1 on Monday (2.5 lbs) and then 2 on Thursday (2 lbs, 1.5 lbs). For all 3 I was using a rapala in a silver/shad pattern that dives 5 - 11' feet. I was casting around docks mainly but some of the strikes came 10+ feet away from the dock. Not sure if the fish chased the lure from the dock or were in open water. Location was east Mercer Island shore just south of the 90 fwy. Beautiful weather and good results given the little time invested.

Tight lines to all,

Nice job! Thinking about throwing my pontoon into lk. WaWa this summer. Would have to watch out tho and stay in safe areas!

@ topdawg47 - agree about staying safe, especially when the big cruisers start coming out. really a pain to fish from kayak in wind and chop. a friend has a hobie that is propelled by pedals... very nice, hands-free operation that allows you to cover more water than with a float tube.

ALL - typo on my post. the date was 5/10 on Thursday (yesterday).

Big T. I have found that those L ake Wa smallies love to dart ot from under the docks to smash a crankbait passing by. That can be a killer pattern this time of year. Jiggy
