Fished from the dock near the parking lot on a blustery overcast day. I had some success with a silver Kastmaster with and without maggots catching several 8-10 inch tiger trout. Nothing bigger. I tried bottom fishing with worms, shallow fishing with a variety of spinner baits, Powerbait up from the bottom and torpedo float with trolling fly without any luck. One other guy there using a worm and bobber finally caught a bait-stealing crappie that was 6 inches at best. Where are the brookies that used to inhabit this lake early in the season?

The brookies early in the season hide out in the lilly pads on the far side of the lake . Its kinda odd because the best method for catching the big brookies is kinda like bass fishing . Panther martins work best the pink and white with the black dots work best just cast alone the edges of the pads and do a reel pause reel reel pause type of retrieve. Like I said the only way to really hook the lunkers is dont fish like you are trout fishing fish like you are after finicky bass. Hope this helps you out ..!
