I wanted to go fishing today & take my kids out for the opener of the season for trout. I called a couple of lake resorts around 8am to see how the fishing was on the lake & from their dock. Most were saying, some are doing well & some not so well, which is fair assessment to say when the fishing is slow but they still want you to come & spend your time & MONEY with them. I was very specific about them being forthwright on their assessment on the fishing!!! The woman who runs the Resort told me & I quote:"The fishing is AWESOME come on out" I decided to take my wife & two children out there only to find out that the fishing "SUCKED!!!! We spent 5 hours on the dock,fishing on the bottom, & on the top with bobbers, and didnt get a bite!!! We tried worms, eggs,marshmallows powerbait, powereggs, all colors, pink,red,green yellow, white, etc ....You get the picture!!! there were like 70 fisherman on the dock and I would see one maybe two fish caught every hour!!! "thats Awesome fishing??????? I don't mind going out & not catching anything but when your completely decieved into believing that there is a remote chance of catching something or at least getting a bite or two, that what really gripes my grapes... So take heed fellow fisherman, when the resort owners start spinning there yarn of great fishing remember 95% or more is a bunch of bull!!!
