I hiked to twin, and rigged up my fly rod. Last summer I visited this lake, and found my self longing for my fly rod, so I figured I'd give it another try. I rigged up my 3 weight with a bead head wolly bugger, and got on the water about 12:30. It was a slightly overcast day, and I didn't see any bugs coming off the water. There were only sporadic rises. I started casting towards logs, and other structure along the shallow shore line, and promptly landed 2 8 inch brookies. These fish are absolutely gorgeous. Despite their small size they put up a solid fight on a 3 weight rod. I continued fishing along the shoreline, and missed about 3 more strikes. I then landed a 10 inch male that was ablaze with reds blues and greens. I landed one more after missing a few more subtle strikes and had to leave to catch the ferry home.
