Largemouth Bass

I made it on the water today around 1:30 w/ 1 goal in mind: hurry up w/ the first Largemouth of 2012 already, Ryan!! I experimented w/ a lot of presintations before I finally got a largie. It was pretty tuff fishing all and all but I did manage to get a few in the 2 pound range.

The first one I caught was the most beaten up lookin bass I've ever seen. I didn't feel either fish bite. The first one was just chilling in place w/ my bait in it's mouth. The 2nd took off w/ my bait and I sawl the line 5-7' from where I casted when I looked down. SET THE HOOK!! Fish on.

I wouldn't say I established a solid pattern really but both were caught holding really tight to fallen trees in 3' of water or less. I noticed quite a few brem in inches of water. That made me happy. If the forecast is as projected, get out and fish this weekend!!!! Tight lines.

When you say, "Brem" ( I know you are from Tejas) Do you mean Brim/Bluegill? When I go to Lousianna (sp?) it always cracked me up that they reffered to Bluegill as Brim.
I never really considered bluegill/brem in lake WA. more of a Eastern WA. warmwater species.

Thank you Aaron, your a boss! Chris, I meant to type brim. Back home we used the term to generalize ''baitfish'' mostly refering to bluegill/ sunfish. Is that a correct usage? I'm not sure. Just what I was exposed to. Bluegill is what I was watching in super shallow water.
