Well, had high hopes for Potholes/Seeps Lakes area. Read up on them and heard all the techniques and places. So my best fishin' buddy (and fiance. How lucky is that. She's into fishin', clamming, crabbing as much as I am and sometimes even more if that's possible)booked a cabin at Potholes State Park for the weekend. Never been there so I was really excited. First choice was Fish Lake though, over by Lake Wenatchee, but is was still frozen over.

Anyways, we got there Friday afternoon. Immediatly we went fishin'. Our favorite is to fish Kastmasters. Especially on new waters. Nothing comes even close to the versatility of a Kastmaster for many different types of fish (including saltwater), waters, and conditions.

Well, to put it in a nutshell we got ZIP!!!! ZERO!!!! NADA!!!! We drove and hiked to most of the Seeps Lakes. We even tryed catfishing. Nothing. We tried many types of lures, and yes we even resorted to worms and (ugh) powerbait. Nada.

Don't get me wrong. It was absolutely beautiful around the Seeps. Not so much Pothole. We had a blast. But, it would have been nice if we even got a bite... Did I mention "NADA"???? The word is that the water was still too cool.

Well, On Sunday we were done there but not out. We decided to do more exploring so we drove to Banks Lake and the dam and then just for a last ditch effort we drove to Fish Lake on the way home. Totally turned our trip around. But you have to go to that post and see.

That sucks you drove all the way to Potholes area without a bite. I too love the Kastmaster and it is my go to lure for trout, although I've caught plenty of other species of fish on them. At the Seeps I've had best luck for trout at Windmill Lake, and always with a silver Kastmaster. I hike towards upper Windmill (not sure if that's the name of the lake?), casting along the way. I haven't had a chance to hit it this year and hope to soon. I've fished the Hampton Lakes and Long Lake before with 0 bites. I recommend trying Windmill next time your in the Seeps area.
