The Lilac trees are about to bloom and you all know what that means? The Crappie are about to spawn! We hit a pond along the I82 corridor with my good buddy Craig Taylor A.K.A "Hillbilly" from the Sunnyside Bi Mart store for some awesome big crappie and largemouth bass action. Craig has been slaying fish since he picked up his pet Okuma Ultralite rod and invited me to go out and see the hot crappie action for myself. I jumped at the chance to field test my new Dragun Nymph "Grande" jigs and the fish were all over it from the first cast! Going by my lunar cycle/best bite time to fish prediction booklet, we hit the bite dead on this morning. Craig tightlined various Canyon Lure mini jig skirts, while I field tested my own creations like the 3" Stone Dragun jig on 1/16th oz.black jighead. Nearly everything we tried caught fish for us, but the bass just annihilated my purple/chartruse tailed "Grande" Nymph". A big bass hit it so hard that all I had left was a chunk of mangled plastic left on the jighead! We praticed catch and release today, but the two of us landed over 60 bass and crappie in a little over 2 hours. Beautiful scenery, a great friend and awesome fishing made for some great pictures! (Guys, field testers are needed for these lures...(get a hold of me if you'd like.)Jiggy

That'll teach me to cancel for frivolus reasons!!
Glad you achieved Nirvana. I'm glad I got some of your lures early. They work. Even spot checking on the Columbia yesterday I picked up 3 species.

Rocky: 6 lbs ought to be easy in the next 3 weeks, but it's a lot more fun the old fashioned way! Besides, he'd have to charge halibut prices...

I wish all you guys were there! Should of seen Craig's smirk when that big bass tore my Stone dragun Off and left me with a ripped chunk of plastic on the hook! LMAO

Great slabs indeed. I am still trying to search for a crappie spot here in the Tacoma/Fort Lewis area. Where can I purchase some of these lures?
