Well what can I say, I had one of the best days fishing ever. In a little over a day, Fri afternoon to Sat afternoon I caught 5 Rainbows ranging from 1 to 1.5 pounds and 4 around 4 pounds each. There didn't seem to be anything in between. I also had 5 break my line. About half were caught on powerbait but the others, including several of the large ones were caught with a black, bead headed leach pattern fly pulled behind a bubble. I hooked one on the fly that was over 5 lbs which broke the line when he cleared the water. These fish were stuffed with black leaches, helgramites and mosquito larvae. I wait every year for the spring bite and hit it just right last weekend.
