With another beautiful Spring day out, Cindy and I headed over to Roses to check out the water temp and Yellow Perch Bite. We launched around 11:00 and fished the weedline and edge of the toulees. We used 1/32 and 1/16 oz jig heads with Nymphs and minnow immitations. We tipped the hooks with either crappie nibbles or a piece of worm. We didn't find any schools of perch, but did pick up a few scattered perch around the lake. We would jig straight down into the weeds or cast along the toulee edge and retrieve slowly. We didn't find a favored pattern but caught them on various combinations of color and bait. We also caught 6-8 bluegill (4-6 inches) and one small LMB. We ended up keeping 14 yellow perch in the 10-11 1/2 inch range. the water temp was 49-53*, so warming nicely. The weather was overcast but very nice. We saw various Bird life as we made our way around the lake, and one goose that had made her nest on top of a clump of rushes right at the water's edge. Great fishing to be had, so enjoy and be safe
