With the great weather, I couldn’t pass up another opportunity to try out the Lake again after having been out on Friday. The north winds were a bit colder and stronger than the southerly winds we had yesterday, but were manageable with two people in the boat. We joined the flocks of grebes and focused on the open water on the south end of the lake. The successful pattern was slow and shallow, which over the course of two days produced a variety of sized fish from 13” to 20”. Despite the water temps still being in the upper 40’s, the fish were feisty and few provided very entertaining take-downs. I kept a few exceptionally thick fish and examining their stomachs, found that smelt had been on the menu. Overall the action is definitely picking up from the winter doldrums and should only get better as the water temps continue to climb.

hey G-man, would love to get out with you sometime so you can show me your success on Lake WA.. I live about 15 minutes from the launch and want to explore this fishery more for some before and after work luck this Spring. I am going to try and hit it this week as the wife is going over to E. WA for the week so have some free either before or after work and want to get the boat back on the water. Did manage a nice rainbow last Monday on American but it's a bit of a drive in the afternoon with traffic.

Hey G...we ran into John while coming back from Kenmore, he said you were out and about...sorry to have missed you. Nice to see the results of the temps climbing a bit.
