The weeds are getting thick, It is hard to back your boat off the launch because the weeds trap the motor. Nevertheless, it is worth the trip and the weeds. The LMB are not hitting top water very well, but they are hitting spinner baits and some plastics. Most bass are either 15" or 10", nothing larger, nothing in between, nothing smaller, but plenty of action if you are a dedicated bass fisherman (person). The perch are really starting to pick up. This last weekend it appeared that the fishing for perch was a morning thing, but I saw a lot of fish being cleaned at the cleaning station about noon that were trout sized. Move into the pads, drop a worm directly down the base of a pad clump (usually the weeds will be thinner there), use a long light rod like a fly rod or a small bobber to detect strikes without spooking the fish.
The crappie should start again next month for the fly fisherman and others using small lures. Too bad archery season is starting and I may not make it back again.
Good fishing
