Like the rest... I noticed a trillion people fishing the last few days as I drove past GL. I quickly figured out what was up. I was off work Friday. With the warming trend, I couldn't help but prep a few rigs for bass. No bass after 2 hours of cold water bassin techniques.

I headed for the trout area and Tied on 4 or 5 different sized/color spinners before I started catching. They all bit on the same style of cast/retrieve and same color/size spinner. It was shoulder to shoulder fishing. Everyone was taking turns casting in the same area. I had to wait to cast where I wanted to many times:)

I was really pleased to see everyone practicing catch n release, no egos, lots of joking w/ each other and people helping each other out. That's what it's all about IMO!! After 5 fish in 20 minutes or so, I felt like I should leave em' alone. The sun was so warm. It was nice to meet a lot of you guys!

I am pleased that folks are practicing catch and release however, it is best to use single barbless hooks as hooking mortality is much higher when using barbed treble hooks. i can see that both fish pictured were well hooked in the lower jaw. Hooking mortality is quite high in trout when the hook penetrates the upper sinus cavities in the top of the mouth or the tongue on the lower mouth.
