No fish today, but what was I thinking? It was 32 when I showed up with about 2 inches of snow. It was clear when I got there. I think it was the pressure change more than the temp. I Took a pic. of ramp when I was leaving. I have to fish in the morning right now, the best time is the afternoon when the water warms up.
The other pic is some jigs I tied up for small mouth. They are bucktail and some ostrich. As the water warms I will go to softer materials and go bigger. I plan to tie some huge articulated jigs for large mouth also. I just ordered 200 jig hooks.

If I were not a bass fisherman, I would question your sanity. My hat it off to you. Nice looking jigs. Under a bobber they can be a real sleeper for smallies when shallow or suspended. I remember a guy up at Riffe Lake who was just killing the smallmouth out in the middle of the lake when the smallies were chasing Kokanee fry. He was using a bobber and a blue and white jig, with a little silver tinsel in it. The basic shape was just like yours. I watched him for a while, and all he was doing was letting the waves on the water do the work.
