Been fishing Mountain darn near every day, picking up cutts to 12", with an occasional 14", on slow-trolled buggers and muddlers. Not many people here, and I had the lake's 3.9 mile contour to myself...started slow, missed my first couple of hits, but once the clouds obscured the sun for a couple of hours I started picking up fish, 11 in all. A few were smallish--8" cutts, most were in the 12-13" range, one was a thick 15", and along a sloping, weedy, shallow shore I hooked and released a 19+3/4" cutt, which let me know it was there by smashing my muddler on previous passes.
It's been such a mild winter that many of these fish are plump, and look like they'd make excellent table fare; nonetheless I put them all back for another day...hmm...perhaps today?
