My buddy Tom and I hit Green Lk. around 10:30. My plan was to circle the entire lake and turn it inside out. After a few hours of no fish, Tom took off, Luckily I pressed on!

4 hours later I was up north fishing next to a guy bottom fishing. I cast my lure past the dock and crashed my lure into the dock legs then suspended it and repeated. A few casts in, I noticed A MONSTER slowly swimming behind my lure. It was toying w/ me so I gave it the ol' figure 8 two times then it got excited. I think it sawl me last second then vanished. I told the guy next to me... I just missed a beast (while I was trying to catch my breathe)!

I knocked my lure against the opposite side of the dock a few times then changed direction. Just as I began to reel... POW!! It looked like a good hookset so I horsed it onto the dock. That fish was powerful... Thank god I changed the hooks. The factory ones were bullocks. The guy next to me took the photo. Thanks Scott (I believe that was your name, ha). The fish was my new Personal Best by 15 ounces weighing in @ 3pounds 1 ounce!! I was stoked.

I immediatly ran to another spot I had a big follower the other day but couldn't get to bite. When I got there, 2 guys were already fishing and had a brown ready for dinner. I repeated the same method as I did w/ first fish. After the bait ran into the pileing, another brown hit w/ no hesitation!

I wish I would of fought this one and tried to ware it out. I again horsed this out of the water but my line snaped as I got it onto the dock. The trout was trashing like crazy. When I tried to grab it I felt the pain of a hook, barb deep in my thumb. It happened so fast, it ripped right out luckily!! I scaled the fish @ 1.12oz.

I got blood all over the fish so I went to wash it off before I got a pic. As soon as I got it close to water, it launched out of my hands like a missile! I didn't care after my PB Brown. All fish released.

It was a long day but the last 1/2 hour was a 5 star report. Can't wait for some bassin!! Tight lines.

Agreed, FishingthePacNW.... but if you look at the tail fin and the head, you can see it is a serious fish for an inner city lake.

the fish is most likely spawned out and that is why it is very skinny. i met up with ryan later that day. the fish was 26" long, that is a big brown regardless of whether or not it's skinny.

After looking at the photo, she was defiantly spawned out. Look at the color of it's head and body. Normally that fish would be super golden/ yellowish and her face would be more metallic green. I really hope people that read this are practicing catch and release as much as possible especially w/ natives so we have some to fish for next winter:)

Interesting that the planted browns are trying to reproduce in Green Lake. A healthy population of brown trout could put a good dent in the carp population by taking out the smaller fish before they reach spawning size.

Dc5, nice freekin 26 inches of Brrrrown Trout..........good god that is a fish. Unbelievable to think what Green lake has in it. I see something odd looking, growing outward on the driver side (left) of the fishes lip and nostril area. Is that where the hook was? Or something else? Appears when the picture is zoomed in.

Thanks!! The tip of the fish's mouth was all gnarly. It was the first thing I noticed as it swam up to my bait. I hooked it in the side of the mouth. It might be some kind of growth or infection. Some of the older, bigger bass I used to catch in Texas would have the same thing. My buddy caught a 12'' rainbow out of Green Lake 2 years ago and it had the same condition come to think of it.

That growth is gnarly for shizzle. There was a line in a John Candy movie. Where he threw a quarter to the lady principle, as she sat at her desk, and told her to have a rat gnaw the lump off her face. I think that was "Uncle Buck"......maybe?
