Fished Samm with a couple good friends, I used led line on a 9 foot fly rod with an old ford fender and a "kieths Wonder" haha tiped with worm! the fish like it! I like it!! Tom and Craig had their best luck with a dodger, whooly bugger rigged with a smile blade tiped with worm way back with a fat split shot.

Kokes are definitly making a come back, 2 to one on the hook ups. I also caught a really nice rainbow!
catch order was:
Rainbow
koke
koke
cut
koke

not couting bites and lost fish
Good fishing, great company!

Looks like it was a nice day on the water (not windy). I assume the fish are pretty close to the surface, so were you fishing the north or south end of the lake? Thanks.

What size cuts did you get, anything over 3lb?

3lbs would be awfully big for Samammish. That is more of a good size Lake WA. cutt.

Nice Fish.
Kieth's Fancy ... LOL
Maybe we should rename it!
It does tend to wonder or should I say wander more without the blade on it. :)

Cheers

HA! oh yea, Fancy, what ever you wana call it, it makes you wonder, and it works. All the fish were in the 15 - 17" range. did not put them on a scale...we start trolling north of weather station and zig zag north. Bite came on after 10 am -2pm

I grew up on Lake Samammish, only moved away 15 years ago. I was hoping to move back to Issaquah someday. When I would fish the lake for cuts, it was a silver/black or trout size 9 Rapala floater. Slow troll with ours, pull once then glide for two, then repeat the process out if front of the Issaquah Creek outlet or where Camp Sambica was. Back then we were pulling 4-6lb cuts out. If anyone ever knew the Salvino's sport shop off Gilman Blvd, behind Denny's. We would take our catch to his shop photo board. Largest cut I had ever seen was 7/3 it looked like a steelhead but it was a cut... Wow I miss Lake Samammish.

this lake still has big fish in it!
Last fall I caught an awesome cut I thought too was a steel head, and many other monster cuts. A nice healthy lake, with healthy fish and a beautiful part of the word. can only imagine what it was like before man...
