I put in under the I-90 bridge and headed to the south end of Mercer Island. I started out trolling an olive colored wholly bugger with a gold bead head but had no luck and after 30 minutes I switch to small balck and white Rapala. I caught two cutt-throats on the Rapala. The first one coming on the southern most point of the island. It was 10 incher and rail thin. It wasn't any wider than standard desk top ruler. The second fish I caught was picked up on south western corner of the island. This second one was brusier of a cutt at 18 inches long and nearly as wide as a soda can accross it's back.

I was trolling with lead core line and was 4 to 5 colors out with a 40 foot 6 lbs leader on. I was trolling in 45 to 80 feet of water. I was pretty much troling from one "no wake" bouy to other around the southern end of the island. As far as speed I have 18 foot wood and composited duck boat with a 60 horse Yamaha 4 stroke, I just click boat into grear and that is the trolling speed.

Tight lines.

I totally like your super scientific method of determining trolling speed. Keep it simple and enjoy the day on the water.
