Despite the recent plant of nearly 800 Cutthroat Trout, fishing has been very slow due to the cold weather. The fish have been hanging close to shore, but have seen probably every kind of Kastmaster, Woolly Bugger, Powerbait and jigs thrown at them by fisherman. Very few have been caught in the past few days, but if you expieriament and downsize your offerings, you should be able to catch a couple. The ususal Kastmasters and water bobbers and flies have had very limited results, so I've been casting small plastic crappie jigs and small rapala plugs which seem to be sparking more interest. If fishing from shore, cast around the dock area, but don't overlook hard to reach areas such as under overhanging tree limbs (hint hint) and around sunken logs. A recent change this year is the roping off of the swimming area, which is now off limits to fishing year round. I got a nice rainbow which I mistook for a cutthroat, but hey, I'm not complaining with the slow fishing. Good Luck and Tight Lines.
