I had to get out fishing, for several reasons.
1. Cabin fever
2. New sonar
3. Marginal ice conditions for ice fishing
4. Keep my drop-shotting skills sharp
So I went to Lake Chelan. Couldn't find anybody to go with me, so I slept in till 7, and didn't get on the water fishing until 9. It was pretty nice I must admit! I had caught a handful of lakers last summer when bass fishing with some friends, and we were out from Pat & Mikes. So that's where I started today, in about 120 feet of water. I used a pretty typical drop shot setup, except a larger weight to account for the deeper water. I drifted with the light easterly winds, until I reached about 210 feet, then motored back up and repeated the process. I had consistent bites, lost 4 fish, and boated 4. I left at 130 pm. So for my time and effort, which was marginal at best, I would say the payback was pretty good. I'll have to try this again for some more fun. Photos are never very good when you're alone, so the one I've inserted is just for proof.
