After reading some productive reports for browns(elijah;), decided to try out my new Abu Garcia vengeance rod I got for Christmas. Got to the 65th st. T dock about 9:30. There was a very nice guy there using power bait and we were chatting it up. Started out using spoons, crocs and then a crank. It was just nice to be out casting on such a nice morning that I didn't have too high expectations. After an hour, threw on a brown trout rooster. This thing is the most productive lure I've used catching all kinds of bass and trout and it didn't disappoint as on my 5th cast I threw it out, let it drop a bit, whipped in the slack and something just tagged my bait. I was shocked and stoked at the same time so stopped reeling to see if there was anything fighting on the other end and sure enough, it started pulling out line. I yelled "I got something here!" and was pumped up and the guy next to me was almost more excited than me raising his fists in the air yelling "oh yeah!!" over and over. Well he put up a great fight and got him up to the dock for a pic. Beautiful colors and spots and about 15-16". I was going to release but the other guy asked me if he could keep it so I said sure, he snapped a pic and strung him up. Fished another hour with no luck but what a nice way to ring in the new year and try out my new pole. tight lines all.

P.S. Can't post pic as I'm at Macy's on my phone while my GF is trying on jeans :)
