On Ft. Lewis caught cutthroat trout in small stream flowing into lake and some lake fishing which was cut short due to lack of sunlight but those lake cuts were feeding heavy in one cove on the lake only got on one in the lake the others were caught in the stream, going back with one man pontoon to get the rest I could not reach from shore. Also had a run in with two Porcucines which my dogs got within 4 inches or so from before I realized what they were sniffing at through the sticker bushes and screamed,No get back, luckily they listened so went up to it and tapped it with my felt bottom wader shoes and got hit with about 20 quills and didn't even tap very hard they stick good and quick and deep pulled them out and going to take apart to see the insides of them, they are like an enclosed tube spine on both ends sharper of course on the business end, been told if your dog gets hit to cut the quill so the expansion of the tube after it pricks in your dog and expands, releases or deflates so you can pull it out, can't say if that is true or not since haven't had to deal with that experience yet butr almost!
