I headed out at Coulon with my buddy Michael(michael2036)to fish for some carp. We start of at the boat launch by chumming some corn to attract some carp we then left the place alone for a bit and to come back later. We then headed to Ivar's to do some dropshotting on bass but to my surprise on our way there we saw a very large i mean very large Pikeminnow biggest one ive seen in this lake. WE tryed throwing rooster tails at it and a rattletrap but it just looked and turn away. We then move on on the other side where i see Elijah fishing off a floating dock. Talked ltr with him and said he only got a bite. We finally head back to the boat launch and see that our corn is gone. So we stayed a bit then some of our other friends came. Half an hour ltr i see a big carp feeding on my corn slowly making its way to my hook and corn finally he sucked it up i set the hook and there he goes dashed right under the dock. I had to hand my dad the rod under the dock in order to land the fish ltr. Id say its about 12 pounds not my biggest from this part of the lake.

@ Timber bliss- we din keep this carp but about a month ago me and my dad took 1 home and tryed to see if they were good took out all the black meat and kept the red dipped it in flour and deep fried and boy did it not taste like carp at allll! I wouldnt advise eating more than 1 in 3 months lol since they are very polluted.

@ Elijah-YAh thanks man i like to underestimate alot haha

How big would you estimate the Pikeminnow was? I hope it wasn't bigger then your carp! :)

I was given a recipe on how to bake carp. Put it on a cedar shingle. Sprinkle it with your favorite spices, then bake it at 350 degrees for 10 minutes per pound. Then take it out, throw away the carp and eat the shingle. Best recipe I've found.

Well do you fish from shore or a boat? I'm guessing from shore. Well the odds of catching winter bass from shore is very slim but possible! You can catch Cutts too using big roostertails and letting it sink to the bottom just make sure its 10-30 ft deep sometimes they get up really shallow. But for bass I would suggest fishing off the dock Near Ivars dragging a 3/4 oz football jig... on cloudy days use a larger presentation and on sunny days downsize changing the profile of the bait. Also work a dropshot. roboworms work best stay with one color because since you can't locate the fish you must stick to a color that you know works. Stay with browns greens and pumpkins. You can also work what is called a 3 way rigged that is use for Walleye. If you want more detail check out my YouTube account at Lippinsmallmouth or send me an email through this website
