It was his idea! Kokanee Kids that is. He asked if I wanted to try jigging for koke’s at Clear Lake a long time ago for the last weekend day before it closed. I said sure. I had tied several jigs up.
Saturday Kokanee kid called and asked if I still wanted to go since it was going to rain and I said yes. When I got there he had the boat ready to go ‘cause I was late. It was windy as well as raining. That was something I didn’t count on. We motored over to where we planned to jig, anchored and jigged. The fish didn’t like the jigs. Or bait. Not a bite. But the wind and rain died down so it wasn’t unpleasant.
Since I had to work at noon we started trolling. I started with a Green Ice and got a few hits but then switched to a pink necklace with a Dick Nite Dodger that got my only fish in the boat. Of course Kokanee Kid got the first and most fish in the boat. I had to let him win since it was his boat. ;-)
I had to leave by 10:30 so we were only on the lake about 3 hours.
