I set the alarm for 6 because I was going to be at the lake by 7 and on the water by 7:30AM. Reality: I wasn’t fishing until 8:50am. There was one boat launching and one fishing. It was pretty quiet with only a slight breeze and a beautiful morning with the mountain showing through the frosty air. I started out going east out of the launch and didn’t get a hit until I had gone half way around the lake. Once I got that fish in, I circled the area and hooked 4 more keeping 3. One I caught was next year’s fish. I was only there about an hour and a half. I used my usual yellow, orange, and pink dodgers and lures to start and when that didn’t work I changed up. I caught the fish on a 50/50 Luhr Jensen 4/0 dodger with a Wannafish A Lure Glided Lily (similar) and Sep’s Watermelon dodger and a Wannafish A Lure Green Ice with a hammered brass blade. I used shoepeg corn and gulp maggots in pink or green. The fish were between 11-12 inches.
