I started fishing close to 8am and finished after 9:30am. I didn’t get them fast and easy. I had a hard time finding them and used 4 different color lure and dodger schemes. I got 2 where we fished the last time and one by the SW side of Silcox Island then I thought I will try for those trout that are on top. I trolled a spinner on the rod with a 1/8oz egg weight. The downrigger was at 17 feet. I was west of the island so I turned north and thought that I will go a ways then I will turn around and leave. Downrigger was out first then I got the spinner out (this was the third that I tried) and put in the rod holder when a fish exploded out of the water behind the boat on that rod with the spinner. Got that fish netted (not a trout, KOKANEE) when I saw that the other rod was dancing! Got that one netted also. That was my limit therefore it was time to leave. It was about 40 degrees out and my fingers were cold the whole time I was out there even though it was sunny. There was a slight breeze which probably intensified the chill.

The spinners I used were from the spinner trade. I started with mine then Fishcreeks spinners then Mike’s and that is the one that got the fish.

Also there was lice on one of the fish.

Good job Toni. They look just like Samish kokes, inside and out!

I wanted to show what the change was. They are orange instead of reddish but the meat was firm except for the female. They will smoke just fine. ;-)

Tony. What is the average size that your catching? They look much larger than the summer kokanee you were catching. What is a Mikes spinner? Did you mean Mack's ?

MotoBoat. These fish were 14 inches.
Not Mack's but Mike Carey "The spinners I used were from the spinner trade. I started with mine then Fishcreeks spinners then Mike’s and that is the one that got the fish." Washingtonlakes.com did a spinner trade in March 2011. Mike Carey spinner caught the fish. Copy and paste the below link into the address bar and you will see what it looked like.
