Spent a few hours on the Lake this morning before I run to the East side of the State to chase some deer. I gave the open water a shot and found the kokes gearing up for the spawn. The thermocline was sitting at around 65' in the middle of the lake and that was where I found the action. I initially worked the area using a Brad's Mini Cut Plug and managed to pick up one cutt close to 20" long. Switching over to a mini hoochie enticed the kokes into biting and I ended up keeping a couple that I felt wouldn't make it if released. Surface temps were in the 58 to 59 degree range and the wind was pretty stiff out of the South bringing with it some occasional rain. The kokes I saw jumping on the surface weren't in the biting mood and all fish were picked up below 60'. In general the kokes still looked to be in great shape for how late in the season it is.
