After being skunked at Martha, I decided to go out to Margaret since it's an easy catch.
Started throwing F9 Floaters...it doesn't matter what color. All colors worked equally well; Chartruese/Silver, Fire Tiger, Rainbow Trout, Yellow Perch. 20-30 fish hit these lures from below. Mostly swirling waters around it, but several jumpers hit this lure hard. Small fish, but a fish is a fish is a fish.
Also tested the smaller XRaps #8s in Rainbow Trout. These took fish as well, but a little more boring than the floater style. All same size fish hit this lure as the floater.
Figured the larger fish were deeper. So, I headed to the deepest basin on the south 1/3 of the lake and busted out my countowns. First couple of casts, I counted down to 50secs and started taking it in...a larger Rainbow hit that puppy. So, I stuck with the countdown ( Firetiger ) for the last 1 1/2 hours. I decided to go to the east side of the lake where the drop off is quite steep right at the short. I parked the boat about 15yards from shore and started to cast up the lake so that he lure remained in that dropoff strike zone all the way back to the boat. Took a couple/three this way. I then tried to cast directly at shore dropping the countdown just off shore, and reeling, pause ( so it will follow the bottome ), reel, pause. Caught a few more this way.
Small fish, but great fun. Beautiful hawk circled overhead. Lake was quiet. 1 or 2 other people on the water at any given time.
Landed about 20 trout over two 2 1/2 hr, mostly cuts, but a couple three rainbows.
