I came back to blackmans and this time brought my little boat. 8' Livingston with 55# minnkota. I trolled around the lake about 50-60 feet from shore. It started out a little slow, two cutthroats hooked and landed in a hour and a half. Then at 2:00pm the fish started biteing. majority of fish caught on NorthWest corner of lake. I caught a perch, more cutthroats, some rainbows. Most the fish went for the Macks wedding ring spinner. But I did catch three or four on the Rapala F-5 perch.

Total fish caught and released = 11

1 perch
6 cuttrhoat trout
4 rainbow trout

Interesting about the Rapala pattern-catches w/ trout. I sure do miss being able to just tape a Glad-bag around outboards and just using trolling motors...too many lakes around that area blow UNLESS you have a 8' Livingston w/ 55LB thrust!!! I bet that sucker hauls you around!!!!

I have a 14 foot livingston with a 24lb. minnkota. I live it. I do have to agree about the water levels around here. It is hard to get my boat off in little lakes. But I'm willing to get in up to my waist for a day on the lake. Yeah i bet that 55 does really well. It must be a 24 volt? Good post Bro!
Fish on.

Yes, the 55# motor is very nice to have on tap. I troll with it at about a 1/4 power. It is a MinnKota Maxum 12volt with variable speed drive witch is a huge advantage to get the speed dialed in just right for the proper affect of the lure when trolling. I can troll all day and not drain the battery completly. Perfect setup for the small lakes in snohomish county. Not so good on big lakes like keetchelus, where the wind and chop get big enough to limit the foward progress to damn near zero even at full power. (scary).
