A little late on the report, but I just finally got around to it. Fished saturday afternoon, wiated for the sun to warm up the water a little. Started trolling big crankbaits for tigers but had no luck. Decided to hit some of the docks with a jig-n-pig. Caught 1 that was right at 4lbs and one right at 3lbs. Both were caught in less than 3ft of water on the S/W end of the lake. Worked a few more docks till a knucklehead pulled up half a dozen docks in front of me. Moved to the otherside of the lake and started throwing bucktails for tigers, no luck, not even a follow. Went back to bass and picked up two more on a tube. One about 2 1/2lbs and one 1 1/2lbs. I gave the day a four because at this time of year any bass caught makes it a good day. MS

Water temp: 56-60
Bait: Black-n-blue jig with a blue Zoom chunk trailer
Rod-n-reel: Cabelas Tournament ZX bait caster and a Lightning rod
Line: Stren original #25 (both fish on the jig were well under docks nears chains, cables etc...)

I concur. Any day you can get bass in Oct or later is a good day! Many years ago while stationed at Fort Benning, GA, I had a buddy who would chase bass in the Dec-Feb timeframe. I would reluctantly go with him, as the water temp was well into the 40s. His theory was that "they still gotta eat". We didn't throttle em like we would during the spring and early summer, but we would still get at least a couple each trip. Deep diving crack baits and 4" lizards and worms fished off Carolina rigs would get the occasional fish in deep water.
