I just picked up my first bait casting reel, and wanted some forgiving water to get used to it on. Lake Tye is on my way to/from work and was wide open, with a forgiving looking (read snag free) bottom. Leaving $5 in DN's on river bottoms is getting a little old..
Anyhow, in about 30 min (half of which was dealing with backlashes) I managed to bring to hand a little Large Moulth, and a little trout. I had a bigger bass to shore, but he shook off and slipped back into the water. Both were landed near the swiming area, on the west side.
Fun stuff, I might make this a regular stop!
